Foldable iPhone 2026: Rumored Specs, Features, Release Date, And Price

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to feature significant innovations in display technology, form factor, and integration of artificial intelligence. Rumors suggest that the device will adopt a Galaxy Z Fold-like design, with a flexible OLED panel supplied exclusively by Samsung.

The display is said to integrate touch sensors directly into the OLED layer using in-cell technology, eliminating intermediary layers. This will enhance touch responsiveness, reduce screen thickness, and eliminate the lamination gap—one of the main challenges with foldable displays.

According to the Korean blog Naver and sources like yeux1122, the internal display will measure 7.76 to 8.3 inches with a resolution around 2713×1920 pixels, while the external screen will be approximately 5.5 inches.

The aspect ratio of the internal screen will be 4:3, making it resemble an iPad when unfolded and ensuring a consistent experience across Apple’s ecosystem, including iPadOS-like optimization. The foldable screen is also expected to have minimal or no visible crease and improved brightness and color reproduction.

Samsung’s recent advancements in reducing screen creases were reportedly crucial in Apple’s choice of supplier. Apple’s partnership with Samsung also aims to develop a thinner foldable panel—approximately 19% slimmer than those found in current Galaxy Z Fold models.

The device is expected to include a hidden under-display camera on the internal screen and a punch-hole camera on the external one. Unlike recent iPhones, the foldable model will forgo Face ID due to space limitations and instead reintroduce Touch ID via a side-mounted power button.

Display sizes are expected to be 5.49″ externally and 7.74″ internally, making it slightly more compact than competitors like the Pixel Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Industry analysts predict that the launch will occur in late 2026 or early 2027, with mass production beginning in Q4 2026. Estimates suggest initial shipment volumes could exceed 15 million units annually. With a price expected between $2,000 and $2,500, the device will target early adopters and Apple enthusiasts.
