Meizu has officially launched its new mid-range smartphones: the Meizu Note 16 and Meizu Note 16 Pro, after months of anticipation. Both models aim to deliver a balanced combination of performance, battery life, and features at competitive prices.
Meizu Note 16
The standard Note 16 is powered by the Unisoc T8200 octa-core processor, paired with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. One of its standout features is the 6,600 mAh battery with 40 W fast charging support. It features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and an 8 MP front camera housed in a top-centered punch-hole.
Despite appearing to have four rear cameras, the Note 16 only includes two: a 50 MP main sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor, along with a ring-shaped LED flash. The fingerprint scanner is located on the side rather than under the display. Other specs include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, IP65 water and dust resistance, and it runs Android 15 with Flyme AIOS 2.
Meizu Note 16 Pro
The Pro variant brings notable upgrades. It runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, offering configurations with up to 16 GB of RAM (plus 12 GB virtual RAM) and up to 512 GB of storage. The display is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz variable refresh rate. Like the standard model, it has an 8 MP front camera, but with a slightly wider aperture (f/2.05) and an under-display fingerprint sensor.
Meizu emphasizes the Pro’s durability, highlighting its TÜV SÜD “Triple Quality” certification, which includes resistance to 1.8-meter drops and submersion in water up to 2 meters for 36 hours. The phone also features IP68 certification and a reinforced design with “collision-resistant structure” and a “safety airbag”.
Its rear camera setup includes a 50 MP main sensor (f/1.8) and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2), with 4K video recording at 30 fps. It retains the ring LED flash, now within a circular module. The battery is slightly smaller at 6,200 mAh, but supports 80 W fast charging and features a liquid cooling system. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. It also runs Android 15 with Flyme AIOS 2.

Pricing and Availability
The devices launch in China on May 16. The Meizu Note 16 is available in white, black, and red, while the Note 16 Pro comes in white, light blue, and gray. Pricing starts at approximately ¥799 (~$110) for the base Note 16 and goes up to ¥2,099 (~$290) for the top-tier Note 16 Pro.
